In the relatively new techological culture of computers and the Internet, what we do and how we do it, impacts on other people. The following sites were chosen for their excellent guidelines in a code of conduct for computer and Internet users.
The Ten Commandments of Computer Ethics - written by CPSR - Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility, a public-interest alliance of computer scientists and others interested in the impact of computer technology on society.

CCSR - (Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility) - designed and maintained by De Montfort University, Leicester, UK - this site is dedicated to research and learning concerning "on the actual and potential impacts of computing and related technologies on society and its citizens."

 

Toward an Ethics and Etiquette for Electronic Mail - This report discusses a number of issues related to the use of electronic mail and presents a set of guidelines that should help lead to its effective use.

 

Netiquette - Using The Internet - This site covers the issues facing a new culture, why rules are needed, copyright issues, plagiarism and referencing.
