Empower teachers and students to reach higher levels of effectiveness in the application and use of technology.

Vision

Our vision is for students to be prepared as knowledge workers for life in the 21st Century as a result of working closely with teachers, helping them become comfortable in a technologically enriched classroom environment.  In order to reach that goal, infusing technology into the total curriculum is necessary so the application of technology becomes commonplace for our students.  Technology permits students to develop essential higher order thinking skills in a life-long learning model of education.  The ability to gather, manipulate and present data, using technology as the medium, is a required skill in the emerging global community.

The use of technology should provide motivation, raise self-esteem and create autonomous learning opportunities.  Teachers should be prepared to utilize the new tools available for classroom instruction through a close working relationship with their Instructional Technology Specialist who will help them to create a climate wherein the student will be challenged, motivated and excited about learning via the use of technology.

It is imperative education remains relevant to the age in which we live.  The use of computers and other technologies for problem solving has been identified as integral components necessary for a paradigm shift to occur within the school setting and for a student’s success in the workplace.
