Educational Technology Consultants/Instructors
At
ComputerTransitions, our vision is for students to be prepared
for the 21st Century through the use of relevant
computer-based technologies and telecommunications to access
appropriate information for learning and enhance personal
achievement.
Why
do we believe integrating technology throughout the curriculum
is so important?
»
Students
learn by constructing their own knowledge when using new
information in meaningful ways
»
New
knowledge must build directly on what each student already
knows
»
Students
must see the connection between the new ideas and their world
»
Students
need to be actively involved in their own learning and
decisions about their learning
»
Students
will need to use technology as a tool to solve problems
»
Student’s
primary goal is to learn academic objectives using 21st
century tools
»
Students
will learn to use technology as a secondary objective
»
Students
learn best when constructing projects to demonstrate their
learning
»
Student
success and motivation to learn will increase
How
do we achieve this goal?
Classroom
technology promotes and facilitates an active student learning
environment where students use computers to link the real
world to relevant topics and do so utilizing varied forms of
technology as learning and problem-solving tools.
We
have developed multiple programs
which are designed to alter the learning environment within
schools.
»
Cyber
Classrooms – environments that hold the appropriate tools
and configuration to support delivering instruction utilizing
varied forms of technology
»
Cyber
Teachers –Teachers
are invited to
become Cyber Teachers. They
must be motivated to learn to deliver instruction in a Cyber
Classroom environment. These teachers become the technological
leaders of the school who also model for others and encourage
them in the use of technology in the classroom. We work
closely with these teachers, individually and in small groups,
to address their individual, curriculum-driven technology
integration needs. We provide instruction in classroom
management, review their academic curriculum and help develop technology integrated lesson plans,
and model technology integration for them.
